The “Baby” Doll Dress

This dress was created for the Sustainability for Design course. Every year, tons of baby clothes are thrown away and end up in landfills. When deciding what I wanted to up-cycle, I remembered how my mom kept all my old baby clothes to one day create a quilt. I was able to take some of these garments and created this quilted baby doll dress. With the saved baby blankets I was given, I created a reversible tote bag. Out of the remnant fabric, I made a quilted pillow; instead of using stuffing, I made my own filling with the fabric scraps. After the project was completed, all that remained were some pieces of elastic and some buttons.
